The ancient and upheld of system of controllers has shown its faults. Like an ancient wall it begins to crumble, the individual worlds, or “Theatres,” dissolving one by one as their controller’s go insane with jealousy and redundancy. Ideas are repeated, accusations of plagiarism are thrown around as if in a game of hot-potato; unoriginality and cheap, dramatic plot devices rule the stage. The old days of the first ones has been disgraced as everyone now tries to emulate them. The feeling of “Why change a formula if it works?” spreads across the Controller Universe.
A young controller named Czar was one of the few that dared try something original, something that may make the reader think about his position in the world, something that diverged from the path that had been so heavily packed by the feet of a thousand others. A small beacon of originality shone out of the darkness of redundancy, and as with most things new, it was shunned. The controllers had been in the dark so long that any glimpse of light was blinding. For his radical ideas, Czar was cast out of the controller society by the High Council of Theatres. It was a grave mistake, for none of them knew how easily bitterness can grow in the heart...
