DailyDescription: Mastermind has been a series idea of mine that I have written and rewritten continuously for a good five years now. Needless to say, after such a length of editing, the plot has changed continuously, and I`ve finally found one that seems, at least in some ways, original. The story follows comatose angsty teen Jen Kvalko and her journeys throughout a strange futuristic world, walking straight into a war between the overgrown dictatorship of a government and the handful-of-a-group of anarchistic rebels opposing such. The series covers most genres in the anime and manga world, including, but not limited to, fantasy, science-fiction, action, romance, tragedy, drama, even a dash of comedy (when necessary), therefore making it appealing to many readers; even those who aren`t fans of the typical boy-meets-girl (or boy) romances may be relieved to find everything go topsy-turvy in the end. However, the series also has its handful of homosexual pairings, mainly between men, that may be a turnoff to some readers.
Most the series` cast has been around since the beginning of the project and has, thus, evolved to have more humanlike behaviours than other of the extra cast members, who just have bland expressions and no real way of reacting to situations. The series also has no set main character. Certainly Jen is the first cast member introduced, but the entire plot doesn`t revolve around her existence; quite the contrary. The centre of the plot varies as the cast does, for everyone has their own, in-depth described background story. Of course, most of the details of many of these stories had to be cut down to fit into the thirty-six chapter limit I gave myself.
As the story progresses, the cast seems to grow up as well. Like most anime/manga plots tend to do, time is passing throughout the series, and the cast`s mannerisms are changing drastically. What one character may have said or done in the beginning, he no longer would at the end. Life does change, and very rarely for the better; a lesson Ive learned throughout my short life and have incorporated into the series. Basically, my goal is to create, write (and draw), a series that reflects the way life truly is, where dreams don`t come true, where the `good guys` don`t always win, where people are dishonest and relationships fall apart, where tragedy happens to someone, somewhere, all the time, and not just when it`s convenient for the main character, perhaps another reason why I eliminated the existence of one. So far, I`ve accomplished half my goal.
