A recent flood through there lands caused many new rivers that all pooled into a large lake just behind the palace. Here a young boy of unknown origins was found seemingly bathing in the waters. Seized by the guards and brought before the king and his son Ran the boy is examined. Sitting and shivering on the floor nude before those of the court the boy pleads in an unknown tongue. A court adviser suggests he may be a fabled terainel that was born of the newly formed lake. The king agreeing looks the boy over eagerly, it was said that if one could catch a terainel that they were bonded to the person that captured them till they fulfilled one desire of their new master. Ran seeing the look in his fathers eyes requests the boys life and disappointedly his father gives him the boy. Ran claiming he lacks nothing and has no unfulfilled desires he decides to keep the exotic boy as a servant, once hes been taught to speak English that is. Naming the boy Kasui due to the fact he was found in a river he begins to teach him the proper way of life, including the fact one must wear clothing. Rivaling countries here of the terainels capture and each take there own coarse of action to prepare, wars have been won and lost to the immortal beings interference. A assassin is sent after the princes life and to capture the weakening Kasui, the longer he is kept from his watery home the closer he comes to death.
